Moves or positions?
Two kinds of whale data that answer different questions: what whales did, and what they hold now.
Good for: picking the right view before you check a claim or write a recap.
Say a post claims a whale dumped its BTC an hour ago, and you want to check it. WhaleRadar has two kinds of whale data, and they answer different questions. Moves are what whales did. Positions are what whales hold now.
Use it fora sell-off, one whale’s trades, checking a post about a trade.
Won’t showa position opened before tracking that has not changed since.
Use it forwhere whales stand, the walls, how close they are to liquidation.
Won’t showwhat changed between two reads, or how a position got there.
Moves
A move is a change between two reads of a wallet: an open, an add, a trim, a close, a flip to the other side or a liquidation. Each carries its time, and a close its exit price and realised profit or loss. You find them on the moves page, on the tapes of each market page and in each whale’s log.
Positions
A position is what a wallet holds at the last read: its side, size, leverage and liquidation price. The radar, the walls, the Whale Tide and Near liquidation all read positions. They are free and current. Moves reach free readers 15 minutes after Pro.
Reading them together
The post makes a claim about a move. Start with the whale’s log: a close or a trim, with its time and size. Then look at what it still holds. A close followed by a short in the same market is a flip, not an exit.
