Every number on WhaleRadar is free to quote and show, with the time it was read and a link. Here is how to cite it, which pictures to use and where the data comes from.

01 · How to cite

The number, its scope, the time and the link.

  • Whale names are given by WhaleRadar and never name a person. A name belongs to one wallet for at least a year, and an earlier holder is shown with its year, as in “Clear Gale ’26”. Add the address or the link so readers can check the wallet on Hyperliquid's explorer.
  • Every figure has its time. Positions change by the minute. Quote the time shown next to the number, in UTC.
  • Credit next to the number, "WhaleRadar" or "Whale Tide by WhaleRadar", with a link, not only in a footnote.

02 · Pictures

Share images that carry their source.

Each picture shows the domain and the time inside the image, so a crop still says where it came from. They show the current data and carry its time. Free to post with a link.

  • Every whale/og/whale/<whale-slug>.png
  • Every whale move/og/move/<id>.png
  • Every market/og/market/<market>.png
  • Every daily report/og/report/<YYYY-MM-DD>.png
  • A live Tide widget for your page/tide/widget/all.svg

A whale's slug is the last part of its page address, like silent-leviathan-a7ce. For your publication: the media studio takes any of these visuals in the format you need (landscape, portrait, square, story, wide), light or dark, with or without the figures and a context chart, as PNG or SVG with the source inside the picture. Caption and embed code come with it.

03 · Data

The data, free to use.

The public JSON is free, needs no key and shows moves 15 minutes late. The Whale Tide is published under CC BY 4.0: use it anywhere with the credit "Whale Tide by WhaleRadar" and a link. The full API with live moves and the Tide's history, the event stream and a licence to build products on our data come with Desk.

04 · How we word things

Positions, not intentions.

  • We describe timing, never motive. "Opened a $4M short two hours before the report" is a fact on the chain. Why someone did it is not.
  • We never tell anyone to trade. No "should", no buy or sell. Whales can be wrong, hedged elsewhere or about to change their minds.
  • WhaleRadar earns nothing on your trades. No builder code, no exchange and no fee on any trade. Pro, Desk and clearly marked partner places pay for it.
  • On event pages every entry is typed: official, reported, unconfirmed, denied. Corrections are public, with their time.
  • What we cannot know stays unknown: unclassified wallets, positions opened before tracking began. Methodology

05 · Brand

WhaleRadar, one word, with the .com.

A different site uses a similar name. Our mark and "whaleradar.com" tell readers apart.

06 · Contact and facts

One address, and the facts about WhaleRadar.

Write to contactwhaleradar.com with your deadline in the subject. A person reads it, usually within a working day.
