How the Tide is made.
One number for where the largest wallets put their money.
- Whale positions.
Every open position of $1M or more held by the tracked wallets on Hyperliquid (the largest accounts and the most active smaller ones), in every tracked market.
- Directional whales with a record.
Market makers, hedgers and wallets without a track record do not count. At least three whales, or a scope has no Tide.
- Weighted by record.
Each position counts with its size times the wallet's track-record score. One wallet counts with at most 10% of a scope's money.
- The long share, 0 to 100.
50 is even. The crowd uses the same scale: the long share of retail accounts, from a public long/short account ratio, today for crypto.
- A daily close.
The value at 00:00 UTC goes into the history. Today's value moves with every refresh of the whale data.
The words for the number

Questions
- What is the Whale Tide?
- One number from 0 to 100 for where the largest Hyperliquid wallets put their money. 0 means all of it is short, 100 all long, 50 even. It counts directional whales with a track record, weighted by that record.
- How is it different from Fear & Greed?
- Fear & Greed measures the mood of the market from prices, volatility and social data. The Whale Tide measures money: the open positions of named wallets you can check on Hyperliquid.
- Is the Whale Tide a trading signal?
- No. It describes how whales are positioned. Whales can be wrong, hedged elsewhere or about to change their minds. Not financial advice.
- When does it update?
- With every refresh of the whale data, every few minutes. One value a day, the close at 00:00 UTC, goes into the history. Yesterday, last week and last month are quoted from these closes once the history reaches back that far.
As of 25 Oct 2026 · 06:38 UTC. The Whale Tide describes positioning. It is not a signal. Not financial advice. WhaleRadar earns nothing on your trades.
