HIP-3: gold, oil, stocks and indices on Hyperliquid
What HIP-3 markets are and why WhaleRadar tracks whales in gold, WTI, the S&P 500 and Nvidia.
Good for: a move in gold, oil or stocks while Wall Street is closed, overnight or at the weekend.
Say gold falls 3% on a Sunday while its home exchange is closed. HIP-3 lets independent builders launch perpetual markets on Hyperliquid, among them gold, crude oil, stock indices and single stocks. A perpetual, or perp, is a futures contract without an expiry date. These markets trade around the clock.
Why whales matter there
These markets are younger and thinner than BTC or ETH. A single large position can make up a big share of all open positions, so where the big players sit weighs more.
What WhaleRadar shows
WhaleRadar reads the HIP-3 markets with whale money on trade.xyz, where gold, WTI crude oil, the S&P 500 and Nvidia trade. They are among the eight headline markets. Markets on other HIP-3 venues are not covered yet. Whale Street follows them while their home exchanges are closed.
What it won’t show
A weekend price is the price on Hyperliquid, not a forecast of the reopen. Whale Street’s scorecard shows how often it pointed the right way.
